April 10, 2008 is the date for the first Hancock County Career Fair. Mark your calendars and plan on joining us that day at Garner-Hayfield High School. Please see the enclosed brochure.
Each of the 9 high schools that touch Hancock County has been invited to bring their Junior and Senior students to the Hancock County Career Fair. At this event students will learn what jobs exist in the area, which jobs they can work at right out of high school, or with a NIACC or a 4 year degree; what they will be doing on the job, what pay can be expected, what classes they should focus on.
Every business in the area is invited to have a booth at the Career Fair. Current job positions along with offerings like summer jobs, internships, tuition reimbursement, and job training are important issues that these students need to know about.
Nationally known speaker Milton Creagh, will speak to the students. In his no-nonsense approach he speaks to the students about work ethic and to parents about preparing their children for the real world.
Work force issues are becoming more complicated and difficult. Tomorrow’s work force is in our schools today. Let’s make sure theses students know they can stay and/or come back to Hancock County to live, work and play. |
